Curriculum
Our Curriculum Follows the Arizona Early Learning Standards
We understand that every child is a unique, complex learner who learns through the development of relationships with peers and adults.
We provide a well-rounded curriculum that supports optimal development of the whole child.
Our goal is to have all of our students exceed the Arizona state standards for math, science, language and literacy, fine arts, social studies, physical development, and social and emotional development.
Our curriculum includes enrichment programs for reading readiness, music, Spanish and chapel.
Ready To Read By Pre-K Academy
Ready to Read is an enrichment program taught twice a week. Ready to Read provides fun, meaningful early literacy instruction for preschool age children.
Chapel
One of the most important parts of our week is Chapel. Chapel is held every Monday and Thursday morning. We use the “Abeka” Bible curriculum to teach your children about Jesus and God’s word. Your children will love learning stories from the Old and New Testaments and will learn the significance of important holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
Music Classes
A part of our regular curriculum, The Scottsdale School offers a weekly music program for all students in attendance that is taught by a certified music specialist. Classes are 30 minutes long and are age appropriate.
Spanish Classes
Our Spanish program takes place once a week and is a fun introduction to learning Spanish. Each week a new theme will be introduced and your children will learn greetings, expressions, seasons, weather, holidays, colors and counting through song, stories and games. They will also be introduced to Hispanic culture and traditions. Each year our students perform in memorable Christmas and Spring concerts. Miss Alicia looks forward to making Spanish enjoyable for all of your children.
